District of Columbia - allows pit bull adoptions<br /></p></strong><p><strong>2. Northern VA - varies by county</strong></p><ul><li>Alexandria - only allows mixed breed adoptions but officials plan on changing the policy to allow adoptions of pitbulls that have been evaluated and cleared.<br /></li><li>Arlington County - new rule allowing adoptions has been approved and might be implemented as early as fall 2007<br /></li><li>Fairfax County - adoptions allowed<br /></li><li>Loudon County - as per Washington Post article on 10/16/07 adoptions are allowed on pit bulls not deemed to be dangerous. <br /></li><li>Prince William County - policy changed in December 2006 to allow adoptions </li></ul><p><strong>3.
